About Me

Debojyoti Boruah

I am a self-taught artist from a small town in Assam, India. Though I have been painting from my childhood, I have no formal education in the field of Art. I have learned through trial and errors since there was no one near me to guide at that time. I can remember what happened to those brushes when I had left them for a long time with my acrylic painting palette. That was my first experience with Acrylics. I even didn’t know that acrylics dry so fast and I had to lost two of my favorite brushes. But that experience teached me a new direction and now I paint most of my paintings with acrylics only. Being a self-taught artist, I have managed my own unique style that can be clearly seen in my paintings.

I had done my postgraduation in Life Science from Dibrugarh University. But my artistic interest always draws me towards those professions where there is creativity. I am also a qualified Jewellery Designer from a reputed Government Institute and worked as a Jewellery Designer for more than 8 years. I have been proudly associated with many projects involving design development, design diversification and new technology implementation in our Assamese Traditional Jewellery industry.

I have painted many commissioned works which have found their way in various parts of India and abroad as well. I always wanted to preserve the harmony of nature and people, the rich diversity of flora and fauna through colors in my canvas. My painting reflects simple beauty for every mood without any negativity. My only wish that my paintings will bring a pleasant and positive vibration not only in your mind but in the surrounding environment as well. Happy painting.
